Tomorrow

There is a quiet lie we tell ourselves.

Not aloud. Not on purpose.

Only in the spaces between one day and the next.

“I'll call tomorrow.”

“I'll stop by next week.”

“There will be another chance.”

Years pass.

Then one day, without warning, we discover that tomorrow was never a promise.

Only a hope.

And hope, for all its beauty, has never guaranteed another sunrise with the people we love.

If I could leave behind one lesson earned too late,

it would not be how to avoid mistakes.

It would simply be this:

Do not postpone the words your heart already knows.

Do not let pride, busyness, or wounded feelings borrow time that does not belong to you.

Most conversations end without either person knowing they were the last.

Some embraces are never offered again.

Some voices fade into memory, leaving only the echo of what we meant to say.

The deepest regrets are rarely born from cruel words.

They are born from loving someone while assuming there would always be one more tomorrow.
